New York Fashion Week



Fashion is one of areas I am fascinated by. Unlike the majority of fashionistas, I am interested in how businesses team up with them and how designers and technology marry up.

The following article http://www.nytimes.com/2015/09/10/fashion/fashion-week-spring-2016-reinvented.html, written by Vanessa Friedman, caught my attention to learn about WME/IMG, a company reigning sports and entertainment businesses. Starting from this season, the company operates or represents 13 fashion weeks, including New York and Milan.

Emerging designers, like Prabal Gurung and Public School, meet great opportunities. WME/IMG will bring prospective sales opportunities and enhance their global brand presences. Simultaneously it expands its own presence to control the industry. Possibly the fashion week will be an arena for brands, just like the International CES for tech companies.

Perhaps WME/IMG is a new emerging designer bringing new style to the fashion week.
